BEAUTY TALK: Backstage at Luisa Beccaria S/S 2016 Fashion Show

The beauty look from Luisa Beccaria Spring Summer 2016 Fashion Show represents something unique for this season. We have seen during these backstages that the latest beauty trend is a glowing, luminous skin.

Luisa Beccaria SS16Almost no one recommends a matte finish for the skin anymore, although here we see a velvety finish. However, this is a new way of interpreting ‘matte’: thanks to the latest foundations’ formulas we are able to obtain a soft matte finish in a completely natural way, since the new textures are extremely lightweight and buildable.

Luisa Beccaria SS16The idea for this look is by MAC Cosmetics Senior Artist Cynthia Rivas. She wanted to represent the floral theme inspired by 60’s, using the models’ faces as blossoming flowers. Therefore, the overall finish is velvety matte just like flowers’ petals. The focus of the look is the lips’ make-up: she used the new Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Lady Be Good (available soon), mixed with a pinch of fuchsia pigment in order to obtain a delicate ombré lips effect. Then, everything is uplifted: eyelashes and eyebrows are combed upward.Luisa Beccaria SS16

As for the eyes, there is a monochromatic wash of colour with a pink-peachy cream eyeshadow. Cynthia Rivas decided to use Paint Pot in Perky, the perfect colour for a springful look with a great perk-me-up effect. Then, for the cheeks she used a pink shade from the upcoming Trend Forecast Lip Palette. The colours in this palette are meant to be applied not only on lips but also on cheeks since they have a texture similar to multi-purpose Casual Colours.

This ‘blooming’ look is really fresh and sweet, indeed. It is as delicate as the blossoming flowers are, that is the exact concept that this make-up tries to achieve.Luisa Beccaria SS16

The hair styling has a totally retro mood. There are two different looks: one features a huge, extreme teasing while the other one is an ultra-simple ponytail with straight hair.
