BEAUTY TALK: Backstage at Elisabetta Franchi S/S 2016 Fashion Show

At Elisabetta Franchi’s fashion show, the beauty look follows the latest season’s trend: beauty is not an obsession, but it is a medium to express one’s own identity in the most natural way.

Elisabetta Franchi SS16The makeup look is created by MAC Cosmetics Senior Artist Michele Magnani with his MAC Pro team. As he told us, they tried to thought about a girl who spent all the day outside in the sun. The bronzing is really delicate and soft, that is the sun doesn’t burn the skin, avoiding any exaggerated utterly bronzed look. They wanted to express a will of freedom through a strong highlighting on the eyelook, with a MAC old but gold product, Powder Eyeshadow Ricepaper. Then they played with different textures, in order to create a soft golden shading at the outer corner of the eye, thanks to Paint Pot Indianwood which is really similar to a ray-light hitting the face.Elisabetta Franchi SS16

Obviously, the base makeup is essential. A natural-looking finish doesn’t mean that skin does not have to be perfect. Here, they created a soft focused sunkissed look. They used the new Studio Waterweight Foundation in various shades: NC44 on pale girls over the cheekbones and along the temples, then it has been blended out with the right shade of the model’s complexion. To enhance the bronzing effect, they used BB in Refined Golden without using powder bronzers. Elisabetta Franchi SS16To warm-up a bit the complexion they used a lip colour from the next Trend Forecast Lip Palette Spring Summer 2016 on the cheeks. The look is then completed by using a cream highlighter, shiny and bushy eyebrows, a lot of mascara. Last but not least, they layered different textures on the lips, from matte to glossy ones. Every model had a body makeup, with Face and Body Foundation in C7 mixed with Mixing Medium Alcohol Based in order to get a complete no-transfer result.

Elisabetta Franchi SS16As for nails, Paola Sacripante from Nails and Beauty team for Morgan Taylor, explained us that they wanted to follow the makeup inspiration. So they chose a geometrical pattern with a nude base and a contrasting vertical line on the outer side. This is a look that want to contrasting with the collection’s mood.
