BEAUTY TALK: Backstage at Dsquared2 S/S 2016 Fashion Show

At Dsquared2’s beauty backstages there is always a lot of glamour, sometimes almost dazzling, where the look is often bronzed. However, during the latest seasons, we see how there is not a burnt skin anymore but we talk more about a healthy, sunkissed look.

Dsquared2 SS16By the way, there is nothing new at this backstage that we didn’t see before: it’s all about a luminous, natural-looking, dewy skin, a little bit of foundation with a lightweight texture, then natural wavy hair, a little messy. In general this is called a normcore mood, that is a very natural look without too much effort in putting makeup on, doing hair etc. Of course, there is a lot of preparation before: hair are prepared with tons of styling product before being blown dry in a natural way.

Dsquared2 SS16The makeup look is by Lucia Pieroni for MAC Cosmetics. The basic concept is a healthy glow look with a golden hue. There is a very luminous skin with a dewy finish, almost a wet-look. She used only a little bit of foundation with a weightless texture. Then there is some powder makeup: bronzers have the most fine-milled texture, then a golden highlighter enhances all that luminous focuses like cheekbones, browbone, Cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose etc.

Dsquared2 SS16Eyes are slightly defined to give them more depth, then it has been added a golden pigment for an extra shine. To avoid any chalky finish and to enhance the dewy look it has been used a lot of Fix +. Eyebrows are kept really natural and quite bushy but in a soft way.

Dsquared2 SS16Antonio Sacripante, the famous nail artist for Morgan Taylor, chose a nude colour with a matte finish for this nail art. The collection is very, very colourful with a lot of bright colours inspired by surf and Hawaii theme so he didn’t want to overdo. It may be appear a simple nude nail polish but there is a twist: a Double Face manicure with a fuchsia nail colour underneath.
