Just arrived in its 89th edition Pitti Uomo, Florence, has proving itself, once again, to be one of the most essential stage of international male fashion.

This year among the most innovative event, you can find the lucky partnership between Guido Biondi, the art director of Roy Roger’s – historic fashion brand made in Italy and the first national jeans maker – and Scott Schuman, the widely popular photographer and blogger, also known as The Sartorialist.

Joined by the same passion for blue-jeans and enchanted by street style, which both of them draw everyday inspiration from, they gave birth to a suggestive capsule collection Fall/Winter 2016-17.

We are talking about perfectly shaped pieces that together combine a total look, as well as single pieces to be worn on their own, without losing their charm.

Preferred lengths, chosen proportions and silhouettes with carefully thought-through details, which reveal a great search for a precious quality behind this collaboration. Iconic 70’s world is the source of inspiration: mood and size are perfectly in-style and kept modern.

The jeans have a high waist with slightly flared legs while the jacket and knitwear is given a shorter body, so the silhouette gains a strong feeling of dynamic fluidity. The parka, icon of that time, is the collection’s over-shaped exception.

Another collection’s distinguishing feature is the search for premium quality materials: important Florentine factories has been selected for fabrics. For example for dark brown suede, Egyptian cotton and 100% Italian combed wool for knitwear.

Last but not least “The Sartorialist for Roy Roger’s” aims for offering something new and attracting, as in its creators’ ideas, something that can catch the most interesting spark from current trends without being slave to.

In Schuman’s words, this collection wants to satisfy those guys “who want to have an element of fashion but don’t want to look like a fashion victim.”
