Peter Lindbergh finds out about his passion for photography in 1971, then he collaborates with the most renowned fashion magazines, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, The Face, since the end of 70’s. He reveals himself as one of the most influential fashion photographer right away, thanks to his new vision of photography. His minimalist approach and the romantic vision that emerges from his portraits give a new interpretation of woman, that is a must starting from 80’s. His high-contrast black&white is influenced by German expressionist movies, 20’s art and modern dance, industrial surroundings. Think about Fritz Lang’s masterpiece Metropolis where Maria’s charming gaze can be found in Lindbergh’s portraits as well. Beauty, according to Lindbergh, is nothing artificial, it is amplified by its authenticity indeed. «I don’t think real beauty can exist without truth. This idea disqualifies today’s excessive retouching» Lindbergh stated.Kate Moss

Lindbergh’s photography interweaves with the first generation of super top models, gathering for the first time Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz, Helena Christensen, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Karen Mulder and Stephanie Seymour for the iconic Wild at Heart shoot. The shooting for Vogue was held in Brooklyn in 1991 with they styling of the talented Grace Coddington who mixed up Chanel and Schott.

In this exposition there will be unseen polaroids, storyboards, backstage films with Kate Moss and Mariacarla Boscono plus various video-interviews.
